RESIDENTS are being urged to watch a touching, yet funny, play about social media at the Palace Theatre.

Best friends Jade and Paris have set up a Facebook page, it’s not just any Facebook page though, and it’s a dead girl’s Facebook page.

In a world where technology is at the forefront, the play follows a group of teenagers who are faced with the death of a fellow pupil and how they deal with it.

The play is directed by The REP’s senior youth theatre director Tom Saunders and written by Charlene James and features young people from Birmingham Repertory Theatre’s Young REP groups.

A spokesman said: "The play is more relevant than ever with social media constantly in the spotlight and playing such a huge role in young people’s lives."

The show, called Tweet Tweet, is on Monday, November 10 starting at 7.30pm and is only suitable for those aged 14 plus.

Tickets are available in person or at the box office on 01527 65203 priced £6.75 (£5.75 under 26s) inclusive of booking fee 75p per seat up to a maximum £3.
