TWO Dudley men are hosting an evening of entertainment to raise money for local disabled children.

Mike Perks and Simon Annis, both aged 27, hope to raise enough cash to provide a free access-to-sports activity day for youngsters.

The fundraiser will take place at David Lloyd Leisure Centre, Brierley Hill, from 7pm on Saturday November 8.

Guest will be treated to music from The Birmingham Blues Brothers, plus food, a quiz, auction and a disco until 1am.

All proceeds will go towards A Day to Remember, a free sports and activities day, which aims to improve access to sports for local young people with physical or learning disabilities.

Youngsters will be able to play cricket, football, tennis and much more at the event, which will trun from 10am to 3pm at the leisure centre on Pensnett Road, on Saturday November 29.

Mr Perks said: "Simon and I have been involved in a variety of sports for over 20 years, gaining life-enriching experiences and meeting lifelong friends along the way.

"A Day to Remember is a chance to give a similar opportunity to children who need it the most - those who may have difficulty in entering mainstream sports clubs.

"We hope this event will be part of a longer journey through which local children can enjoy the many benefits that group sports offer and become confident sports enthusiasts themselves."

Tickets for the fundraiser cost £8 for adults or £4 for concessions and can be purchased by calling Mr Perks on 07581254854 or emailing mperks8@sky.com.
