THE weekend has nearly arrived and the last thing you would want is to be stuck in traffic queues this Friday night.

Our traffic blog is here to help you beat the traffic blues on your drive home, avoiding rush hour hot-spots.

Looking around our area, the Black Country and North Worcestershire, suggests the roads are looking okay in general, apart from where there are ongoing road works and the usual evening rush hour spots.

A few incidents to look out for include:

Slow traffic on A456 westbound between Halesowen and the A459 Grange Road junction.

Heavy traffic on A461 Dudley Port in Dudley Port at the A457 Sedgley Road East traffic lights junction.

Motorists are also being warned about slow traffic on A435 Alcester Road northbound in Portway, between the B4101 Beoley Lane junction and Portway - in the roadworks area.

There is slow traffic on A449 Chester Road South northbound in Kidderminster between the A442 Worcester Road junction and Land Oak traffic lights.

Traffic is busy, but moving, around the A4535 Sutton Road traffic lights junction.

Another area to avoid is the A461 Birmingham Road, Burnt Tree in Dudley, at the Burnt Tree traffic lights.
