PEOPLE thinking about adoption are invited along to an information drop-in event in Moreton on Saturday June 6 at the Moreton Area Centre, in the high street.

Adoption Focus, an Oxfordshire-based, Ofsted Outstanding-rated voluntary adoption agency will be hosting the event on Saturday between 10am and 12.30pm, to give people the opportunity to talk in confidence to experienced adoption social workers and get the information they need before starting their own adoption journey.

Anna Sharkey, CEO of Adoption Focus said: “We look forward to welcoming people coming for an informal chat and answering their questions about adoption. There’s no need to book a place, just turn up and a member of our friendly adoption team will be able to spend time with you.

“There’s no perfect profile of an adopter and we look at each application individually, so don't rule yourself out. Children simply need adopters who can offer a child or sibling group a loving, caring and supportive family for life and help them recover from their past experiences to thrive in their new family.”

She added: “It is important for us to spread the message about adoption and give people the confidence to find out more. Adoption is a big decision, but people can be confident that we will be there for them throughout. So please do come along to meet our friendly team.”

Adoption Focus, which has its base near Abingdon, has placed 55 children from across the country with 36 families in Oxfordshire and
