THERE are two new clergy members for Redditch.
Allison Davies and Ian Evans where among 12 candidates recently ordained in Worcester Cathedral to serve in parishes across the Diocese.
Both were ordained deacon and will enter their first year of training as a curate.
Allison Davies will serve at Holy Trinity.
Ms Davis, who has worked in the public sector throughout her working life, said she was feeling excited, apprehensive, joyful and humbled.
"In a vague way, if I am honest, I think that I have always known that I would somehow end up serving in the Church," she said.
Mr Evans will serve in the Ipsley Team.
Mr Evans, who has been a Licensed Lay Minister at St Peter’s Church in Ipsley since 2008, said he was looking forward to continuing his journey alongside the people of Christ Church within Ipsley Parish.
The Bishop of Worcester presided at the ordinations, assisted by the Bishop of Dudley, and the Right Revd Nigel Stock, Bishop at Lambeth, preached.
