‘BE HAPPY, be healthy’ – that’s the theme for this year’s Showcase of Services for Older People.

At Kidderminster Town Hall on Thursday, August 6, there will be more than 20 organisations who work with or deliver services to older people.

Between 9.30am and 1.30pm, they will have representatives giving help and advice at the free event. They will be covering a range of topics from healthy living, how to manage finances, claim benefits and information on local services.

Older people and their relatives or carers can go along and ask questions and find out information from organisations like Wyre Forest District Council, NHS Nurse Advisors, the Alzheimer’s Society, The Cinnamon Trust, Age UK Wyre Forest, Diabetes UK, MS Society and Act on Energy plus many, many more.

Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be served by volunteers throughout the day. There is also a free Prize Draw on the day.

Councillor Sally Chambers, Wyre Forest District Council’s cabinet member for health, well-being and housing, said: “There is a wide range of organisations coming together under one roof to offer help and advice to older people. It’s a great opportunity to access all their services in one place and find out more about what’s on offer. There’s lots going on in the area for older people and the event is free, so please call in.”
