WICK is holding a Medieval fete this Saturday, September 5, with a wide range of attractions for all the family.

Events include live music with a Medieval flavour as well as a period costume magician, an exhibition of Medieval life in Wick, a re-enactment of Medieval crafts including hand spinning and weaving, fletching, bow making and Medieval scribe. There will also be the Friends of Newport ship

Held next to the church, the fête is a traditional afternoon, all in aid of St Mary’s church, with a fun dog show, children’s games, a photo opportunity in the stocks, stalls with plants, white elephant, books, toys, cakes gifts, raffle and tombola. Refreshments will include teas in the manor gardens, bar, barbecue and ice creams.

There will be fancy dress prizes for all ages, open to anyone turning up in medieval costume. Fête entry is £1 with children free.
