A MAN has died after being hit by a car reversing into a space at Russells Hall Hospital.

Ivan Tranter received treatment for a head injury after he was hit by a car while walking across the hospital’s car park at around 11am on November 3.

The 83-year-old, from Kingswinford, was released from hospital but his condition deteriorated and he was later taken to a Birmingham hospital, where he died on Friday (November 27) as a result of his injuries.

His daughter Christine, paid tribute to her father, who she described as "the light of my life".

She continued: "My dad was a very loving father to me and a loving husband to my mum Beatrice.

"He was a very private and proud man and he will be missed dreadfully."

Officers investigating the collision have spoken to the driver and are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

PC Mark Crozier, from the force’s Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We have trawled CCTV and now need any passing motorists or pedestrians who were there at the time to come forward. "They may have seen something that could help our investigation.”
