THERE is less than a month to go before the end of the Brierley Hill Society of Artists’ annual show in Wordsley.

The collection of artists are currently exhibiting more than 75 original framed pieces of work at Wordsley's Red House Glass Cone, where they will be on display until March 6.

Many unframed prints, using watercolours, mixed media and acrylic, are also on show and pieces are also on sale from £15 upwards.

Visitors can see a wide variety of subjects, ranging from local scenes like the cone itself, Himley Hall, Stewponey Locks, Ludlow and Bridgnorth to those on foreign soil, including Turkey and Portugal.

Other topics include animals, flowers and a cartoon of politician and TV presenter Michael Portillo during a visit to the cone, while there is also a children’s picture section within the exhibition, aimed at those aged eight upwards.

Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “This exhibition will give us another opportunity to sample some excellent products and perhaps pick up a bargain or two.

“It is also an excellent way to showcase the work in the heart of our impressive glass quarter.”
