A FUGITIVE grandma who had been jailed in Peru for smuggling cocaine is believed to be on the run in Worcestershire.

Lillian Allen is understood to be homeless in the district after bribing airport officials to get her back to the UK.

Allen was jailed for eight years in 2001 for trying to smuggle seven kg of cocaine out of the country.

She says she pleaded guilty to get a lesser sentence and claims she is innocent.

She had been released on parole after half her sentence was completed but was meant to stay in the South American country.

Allen, who speaks with an Irish accent, is said to have bribed airport staff to allow her onto a plane back to England for $600.

It is understood she has family living in Worcestershire.
