A KIDDERMINSTER hospice is taking part in its first ever TV ad campaign to raise awareness of the role they play in the community.

Kemp Hospice has joined forces with 15 other facilities from the West Midlands for the “Love Your Local Hospice” series of adverts that will be shown on ITV over a 10 day period from Sunday, February 14.

The emotional campaign will show the love, care, friendship and support each of the hospices provides to patients young and old and their families.

Each year Kemp supports around 850 people affected by life threatening illness and loss and it costs over £900,000 a year to run the hospice. It costs around £80million to run the region’s hospices as a whole.

Like Kemp, many hospices are reliant on voluntary donations to meet these costs and without them they simply wouldn’t exist. They are also supported by dedicated volunteers.

Cathy Sloan, Head of Fundraising at Kemp Hospice said: “We are here for everyone in the Wyre Forest who needs our support and I really hope that this TV ad will help us get that message across.

“Hospices are warm, caring, happy places and I hope that people watching will be encouraged to find out more about KEMP.

“I also hope that people will feel able to help with our fundraising efforts this spring. Alongside the TV ad we are launching our ‘Kemp Coffee Morning’ campaign.

“Coffee mornings are a fun and sociable way to raise vital funds for the hospice and you can hold them in your home, workplace or school.

“To take part people just need to give Kemp Fundraising a call on 01562 756066. Every pound really does make a difference ".
