THIEVES have stolen up to £8000 worth of equipment from a barn in Kidderminster.

The incident occurred sometime between 10pm on Monday, June 27, and 8.30am on Tuesday, June 28, at a barn which is part of a residential property in Shenstone.

The victim discovered the lock to the barn door had been broken open and a number of valuable tools and equipment worth up to £8000 had been taken.

Among the equipment taken was a yellow and orange Honda chipper and several Stihl chainsaws.

Officers from West Mercia Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have been offered these for sale. 

They are also appealing for witnesses or anyone with information that could help recover the items to come forward.

PC Nicky Turvey of West Mercia Police said: "We are really keen to hear from anyone who can help us trace the items that have been taken during this burglary.

"We have increased patrols in the area and urge members of the public to be vigilante and report any break-ins or suspicious activity so that we can investigate fully."
