STAFF at a Kidderminster store donned their finest beach-gear as they raised £46 for the Little Princess Trust during a charity event.

Specsavers in Swan Centre took part in a beach-themed fundraising event on August 19, offering customers goody-bags, balloons, handmade cakes and a sandpit game for children.

The event was part of a wider beach-themed day organised for businesses in Swan Centre.

Store director Timothy Reeves said: "The Swan Centre had organised a bigger beach-themed event.

"We were so pleased to be involved and donate the funds raised to a cause that is doing such important work in the community.

"We are delighted that so many of our customers were able to join us on the day."

The store were inspired to fundraise for the charity after staff member Marie Jones, of Stourbridge, prompted her team to support her friend, Lindy Humphrey.

Ms Humphrey was diagnosed with cancer and donated the hair she lost during treatment, and is now fundraising to raise money for the Little Princess Trust.

The Little Princess Trust works with specialist suppliers and experienced hairdressers who offer wigs tailored to the individual child’s needs to provide wigs for youngsters with cancer.

Each wig costs around £350 each.
