A MULTI-award winning Stourport bed and breakfast is celebrating after scooping more prestigious gongs for its customer service.

The Victoria Villa B&B has been handed the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award for the fifth year in a row.

More than 230 of over 250 guest reviews of the Victoria were rated as excellent and the rest as very good to secure the award.

There was further good news for owners Jo and Matt Lamb when they were named a 2016 Steller Stays property by HotelsCombined in recognition of consistent customer satisfaction and quality.

The Victoria obtained 193 impressive reviews, giving it a score of 9.84 out of 10 and ranking it the fourth best of 279 properties in Worcestershire and in the top three per cent in the UK.

And Mrs Lamb, aged 56, revealed she and her 58-year-old husband were looking to retire after 14 years of running the Victoria and have put the B&B up for sale with Christie and Co.

She said: “It is wonderful to keep getting the awards as it is hard work to maintain the level and standards expected by guests and to meet the strict criteria set by assessors.

“I always try to approach everything with a smile and my sense of humour. We give guests that personal approach and look after their needs as best we can.

“So I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to write such positive views about us that have enabled us to win there awards. We are only a small B&B and reviews are a massive boost to us.”

But despite their annual successes since running the B&B since 2003, she said it is time for them to step down and take early retirement.

“I have been working in public service for many years but we are now looking to take a full retirement. There is resting on your laurels but it is a thriving business in a very up and coming town and very rewarding.”
