A WOMAN was pushed from behind as a man stole her debit card and money at a cash machine in Kidderminster town centre.

Shortly after 1pm on Friday, September 16, the victim, a woman in her 20s, attempted to withdraw money from the cash machine outside the Tesco store, in Comberton Hill.

As the cash became available, she was approached from behind by an unknown man who pushed her out of the way and stole her debit card and £20 cash.

The offender left the scene down Comberton Hill and was later caught by a resident in Anchorfields, where they retrieved the stolen items.

He is described as a white man in his 30s, of slim build, around 5ft7 in height, with red hair and facial scarring.

At the time, he was wearing a light grey dirty baseball cap, grey zip-up hooded top, possibly with a white T-shirt underneath, jeans and white trainers.

West Mercia Police officers would also like to speak to a man matching this description in connection with a theft in AJs Cafe, also in Comberton Hill, on the same day.

Between 9.50am and 9.55am, the victim, a man in his 50s, had ordered and paid for his breakfast and put his small, brown leather card wallet down on the counter. He turned to clarify something with another man who was sat at the table next to the counter.

When the victim turned round to pick up his wallet, which contained bank cards and cash, he realised it had gone.

The person who had been standing behind him at the time, who matched the above description, was no longer there.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed either incident, or has information that can identify the offender.

Witnesses are asked to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident reference number 360S of September 16.
