POLICE are appealing for information following a report of a scuffle between a woman and a young boy.

It took place in an alleyway between Hastings Drive and Sudeley Avenue, Worcester.

Police believe that they were known to each other, possibly mother and son.

A concerned member of the public reported the row, which occurred at around 3.30pm yesterday (Friday, February 17), and neither the woman nor the boy have yet been identified.

The woman is described as being white, in her early 20s, of average height and slim build with long brown hair that was tied up. She was carrying a rectangular child's book bag.

The child is described as being white, around three years of age, with shoulder-length blond hair and wearing a yellow hooded raincoat and carrying a backpack.

It is also reported that there was a purple Ford Fiesta in the area at the time and police believe the driver may have witnessed something. They would like to speak to the driver.

PC Andrew Todd said: "The report suggests there was some form of physical altercation between the woman and the boy. We are concerned for the welfare of both of them and would like to identify them as soon as possible.

"We believe that the woman and the boy were known to each other, possibly mother and son.

"If anyone has information that can help us to identify either I would urge them to contact us."

If anyone witnessed the incident or has information that could help police with their enquiries they should call 101 and quote incident 606s of 17 February 2017.
