PLANS have been submitted to convert a Grade II listed former Methodist Chapel into a three-bedroom house.

The former Calvanistic Methodist Chapel, in Clifford, near Hay-on-Wye, has no power and has been left vacant for the last 20 years.

The chapel which was built in 1823, is constructed of rubble walls and extremely simple in design. The applicant has consulted with the conservation officer for Herefordshire Council on their proposals and has taken care to protect the principal character of the building. The raised pulpit will be retained and incorporated into the layout of the ground floor.

The plans are currently out for consultation and anybody who would like to submit their views to Herefordshire Council should do so by August 31, planning reference: P172581/F.
