A FIRE caused by a tumble drier was tackled at a pub in Paxford, near Chipping Campden.

Three fire crews were called to The Churchill Arms after the fire in the laundry area of the pub on the second floor, although nobody was reported injured.

The crews were called on Sunday August 13 at around 4.50pm, and they were called back out at around 6.40am the following day to smoke from the second floor.

A Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Crews were called at 4:50pm to smoke coming from the building.

"Two appliances from GFRS (one from Chipping Camden and one from Stow in Wold) and one from Hereford & Worcestershire attended.

"On arrival crews found a fire on the second floor of the building.

"We used 1 x jet, 2 x hose reels and 4 x breathing apparatus.

"Stop message was received at 18:05.

"Crews were called back out on 14th at 6:40am to smoke from the 2nd floor and an appliance from Moreton in Marsh attended to dampen down."

The pub opened as usual on Tuesday and it does not open on Mondays with the roof temporarily repaired.
