Injunction bans pair from licensed premises in Dudley

Daniel Davies, from Dudley, and Kyle Williams, from Yardley, are banned from associating with each other and entering anywhere that sells alcohol in certain parts of Dudley borough and Sandwell.

Other conditions of the injunction directs that they can only possess one mobile phone each and must share the IMEI number with police - and they must also call police to notify them about any vehicle they are travelling in and share details of the make, model and registration number.

If any of these conditions are breached, police have the power to arrest them.

DC Dan Wickenden from Force CID, said: “We applied for the injunction following a series of violent incidents related to drug dealing.

“We believe Williams and Davies are linked to these events but do not have enough evidence for a criminal prosecution - so the injunction is the next best thing as it allows us to manage their activity and arrest them should they fail to comply.

“Both have been managed by police Offender Managers but refused to engage with intervention programmes or schemes aimed at diverting people away from crime.

“The injunctions last for seven years, until July 2024, and if either are caught breaching any of the conditions they risk being jailed.

“Local officers know who these men are, recognise them on sight, and we will be looking to see if they breach any of the conditions.

“But our communities also play a vital role as our eyes and ears on the ground and I’d urge anyone who sees Williams or Davies in the exclusion zone or suspects them of breaching the injunction to report it so we can take action."

These are the latest in a series of injunctions secured by West Midlands Police as the force works with local authorities to disrupt anti-social activity.
