BRIGHT spells and some wintry showers are expected this morning, but the showers will become isolated through the afternoon, with increasing amounts of sunshine developing.

It will feel cold with a brisk northerly wind, and temperature reaching a maximum of 5C.

Any remaining showers will die away through the evening to leave a dry and clear night. Temperatures will fall sharply giving a frost and isolated freezing fog patches by dawn. Minimum temperature: -1C.

Saturday will start frosty with any fog slowly lifting. Then a mix of bright or sunny spells and isolated showers, falling as snow on the hills. Maximum temperature: 7C.
