A Kidderminster care home is preparing for an open day event of royal proportion to commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday.

Brook Court care home on Oldnall Road will open its doors to the community for a free family-friendly event on Saturday April 21 from 11.30am to 4pm. The event is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create closer relationships between care homes and their surrounding communities.

The queenly themed day will feature homemade crowns, a tea party with homemade cakes, and live music throughout the day. Visitors will also have a chance to meet and talk with the team at Brook Court.

Gillian Pratt, home manager at Brook Court, said: “Care Home Open Day provides residents and the Care UK team with a fantastic opportunity to welcome the local community in to home.

“There is already a buzz around the home, as residents prepare for the big day.

“We hope that the people of Kidderminster will join us in celebrating the Queen’s birthday and making this year’s Care Home Open Day one to remember.”

People can also pick up a copy of Care UK’S guide ‘A Helping Hand’ on the day.
