THE work of a respected Yorkshire musician who made his name in Bromsgrove is documented in a new biography.
'Burnell of Bromsgrove - Yorkshire Man: Bromsgrove Musician' tells the story of Isaiah Burnell, who for almost 50 years taught, developed, encouraged and made music in his adopted home town of Bromsgrove.
He worked with Bromsgrove Musical Club and was director of music at Bromsgrove School for 25 years.
The book is written by John R Arrand and costs £7.50 from brewinbooks.com.
A launch takes place on June 16 in Routh Hall, Bromsgrove School, with the school's choir singing his best known work, 'Surely the Lord is in this place'.
