CHILDREN and staff at Chaddesley Corbett Pre-school and Nursery are celebrating after welcome funding transformed their facility.

The Department for Education awarded the nursery, on Chaddesley Road, £192,000 and that has been used on work to create a new building and an outdoor activity area.

Chaddesley Corbett applied for the grant following the Government’s announcement of 30 hours’ free nursery for working parents and the improvements mean it can provide extra places for families.

The new wooden-clad building contains two new classrooms in it – one for pre-school children and the other for youngsters from two—years-old.

The outdoor area is kitted out with bouncy rubber flooring and astro turf to enable its use all year around.

The nursery is also able to provide regular Forest School sessions, enabling children to experience woodland learning.

Early Years Leader Jayne Edwards said: “We are delighted to have been selected by the DfE to receive the grant.

“We can offer so much now to our Nursery children, regular cooking, PE, Music and Forest School sessions, our facilities will be hard to beat.”
