A DANCE group won first place in a county festival.

Piroutte Dance School, based in Evesham, came first out of 22 groups and also received awards for Senior Cabaret Group and highest mark of the Kidderminster Dance Festival that ran over two full weekends.

Dancers who entered solos and trios also won a string of gold, silver and bronze medals gaining a medal in every section the school entered.

Pirouette Dance School has only been open two and a half years and offers training in many styles of dance for all ages from two and a half.

Principal Charlotte Horton-Cox was also nominated for best teacher of the year for Hereford and Worcester.

The principal said about the performance: " I am proud of every single one of them and can't believe what the school has achieved in such a short space of time. I want to thank the parents who trust in us to make young dancers dreams come true."

The group practice styles of dance to all ages including ballet, tap, lyrical, contemporary, street, commercial, modern and jazz technique and musical theatre.

Pirouette Dance School is currently fundraising for a full refurbishment of the hall.

From September the dance school will be taking on sole lease of this space so it can make it into its own full time Dance Studio.
