WATER supplies are off in various parts of Chipping Campden due to a reservoir leak.

Residents have reported their water being off since this morning blaming a reservoir leak in Langlands Reservoir, near Chipping Campden.

A resident said: "It has been off since this morning. It was about 8.30 am that I last remember it being on whilst I was brushing my teeth.

"I have had to go to the petrol station and buy six bottles of water. "Thames Water do not know when it will be back on."

A notice on Thames Water's Facebook page said: "We're arranging for more bottled water to be delivered to Hidcote Manor Gardens.

"We've also set up another collection point in the car park area on Church Street, Willersey, Broadway."

Thames Water head of water networks, Tim McMahon said: “We’re sorry to those people whose water supplies have been affected by the burst pipe.

"We know not having water on a hot day makes life difficult so we’re making sure bottled water is readily available at local collection points and those people who can’t get to us get it delivered straight to their doors.

“We’ve nearly completed the repair to the pipe and expect water supplies to return to normal by this evening (Friday 3rd).

"We anticipate that water will reach people on flatter land faster than those in hilly areas, and we’ll keep bottled water available for as long as it’s needed.”

The burst pipe is in a field near the GL55, GL56 and WR12 area andis 10-inches in diameter.

A fleet of five tankers is being used around the area to pump water into reservoirs and the pipe network to keep disruption to water supplies to a minimum.
