WEST Malvern are still searching for their first win of the Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League Division Two season at Royal Grammar School Worcester.
After a slow start, Rushwick scraped together an unlikely 103-4 with Gary Watkins contributing 27 not out, Mark Turner 18 and Matt Champion 12.
Pete O’Connell bowled with pace to return 2-20.
West Malvern got a steady start from Glen Collins (12) and O’Connell (12) but failed to impress further after the fourth over when both were dispatched.
Rushwick accelerated the inevitable to win by 34 runs with 15 balls left, bowling their opponents out for 69.
- The Chase School made the Worcestershire Lady Taverner’s girls’ under 15s indoor final.
The Malvern pupils lost to Prince Henry’s High School, Evesham, at Worcester’s Perdiswell Leisure Centre after they won their respective pools in the six-team competition.
The Chase were put into bat and a good fielding display pressured the batsmen in a total of 35.
It seemed an easy target until two wickets fell cheaply but Prince Henry’s eventually reached their target.
The victors were drawn against Malvern St James and Christopher Whitehead in the pool.
After Christopher Whitehead beat Malvern St James, the Evesham school defeated the former with a score of 63 in reply to 31.
