BROMYARD missed out on a club-record eight consecutive outright victories after a winning draw against Burghill and Tillington in Worcestershire League Division One.
Bromyard lie fourth in the table, 45 points behind leaders Astwood Bank.
Batting first, Bromyard slipped to 71-3, as Burghill’s James Burston (2-52) removed both openers Ryan Tongue (24) and Bullock (25), before Sri Lankan overseas player Dinusha Fernando fell to Hamish Cooke for just seven.
But a 126-run partnership between Edd Oliver (65) and Zahid Saeed (76) got the visitors back on track.
Some late hitting from Eral Anderson (18) and Greg Leighton (17 not out) got the total up to a daunting 273, despite the efforts of Mark Preece who picked up a hardearned 3-73.
In reply, the hosts lost regular wickets with Fernando taking 2-37 in 15 overs, and fellow opening bowler Leighton finished with 2-43.
Pete Whittenbury took 3-22 in eight overs including the wicket of Jack Hale (24), but with just 47 overs left to bowl, Bromyard could not quite prise all 10 wickets out of their opponents.
Ben George top-scored and finished unbeaten on 30 to salvage a losing draw for Burghill.
