Jenkins stunned in Ireland

IRISH debutant Connie Finnan stunned two-time finalist Terry Jenkins with a thrilling 2-0 partypoker.com World Grand Prix first-round victory.
World number 74 Finnan, from Garryowen, Limerick, produced the performance of his life to delight his home crowd at the Citywest Hotel, Dublin. The 51-year-old came from a leg down to secure the opening set 3-1.
Though Ledbury ace Jenkins kicked off the second set with a 152 finish, Finnan took the next two legs.
The Bull, 50, hit back to take the set into a deciding leg with a 14-darter, but Finnan was first to a finish with double eight.
Jenkins had earlier collected £1,000 from a fourth-round defeat in the first Dublin Players’ Championship. He beat Chris Aubrey 6-4, Andy Pearce 6-2 and Robert Thornton 6-2 before losing 6-1 to Joe Cullen.
