Attwood leads goal blitz as WCT shine

WCT Raiders kept up their 100 per cent record in the McDonald’s Worcester and District Saturday League with an 11-2 thumping of Worcester Anchors.
Toby Attwood cracked four of the goals, while there were hat-tricks from Tom Hobbs and Joe Haines.
Martin Newman grabbed four goals for Arrow 2000 in a 9-4 away win at Malvern Vale. George Martin also hit a hat-trick for the winners.
In the Sunday League’s only Premier Division game, Perrywood thrashed Martley Spurs 7-0, with James Long scoring a hat-trick for Perrywood.
Claines beat bottom side Hornets 5-1 in Division Two, with both James Freeman and Tony Farnsworth scoring twice.
Conner Grant bagged two goals as Pillar of Salt Korono won 5-0 at home to Hornets Reserves. Elsewhere in Division Four, Talbot shared eight goals with The Bell @ St John’s with Ben Shephard scoring all four for the away side. There was also an entertaining 3-3 draw between Old Vigornians and Whitehall.
In Sunday Division Five, Worcester Rileys hammered Droitwich Spa Eagles ‘A’ 9-2.
Shane Smith notched four goals and James Freeman smashed a hat-trick.
Sunday also featured games in the Nursing cups. In the Junior Cup, AFC Heenans easily beat Golden Lion Athletic with Rich Smith getting a brace. Andy Bullock also grabbed two as WCT Raiders thrashed Droitwich Spa Eagles 7-2.
Lee King of AFC West Midland continued his goalscoring spree, as he bagged a hat-trick in his side’s 5-2 away victory at Northside in the Minor Cup.
Luke Suthard also scored three in Worcester City Wanderers’ 8-0 thumping of Blackpole Sports.
