THE Worcestershire advanced to the third round of the Droitwich Shield when they comprehensively beat Gaudet Luce 3-0 at home.
Peter Lupino and David Marshall won 7&6, Steve Lane and Phil Shurmer won 5&4 and Jamie Dunster and Tom Howells won 4&3. In the next round, they visit Kings Norton.
The ladies’ winter league continued with two further matches completed. In the second round, a four-ball betterball competition played over 12 holes, Jen Bishop and Hazel Cartledge won with 30 points.
Lisa Digings and Joan Herbert took second spot with 28, while Pauline Belsham and Jill Mico were third with 27.
In round three, which was a greensomes competition also played over 12 holes, Belsham and Vanessa Chesterton were victorious with 24 points on countback from Bishop and Jane Quick. Veronica Shaw and Herbert took third with 22.
In the nine-hole monthly league, Pauline Stow won round three with 17 points, with Sharon Williams second on 12. In round four, Esme Davy won with 15 points.
