WCT Raiders enter the season’s second-half with a good chance of completing a Saturday and Sunday top-flight double in the McDonald’s Worcester and District League.

However, for Saturday Division One success, they will probably have to defeat fellow title-challengers Powick, who won their first encounter of the season and top the table.

Raiders’ hopes of retaining their Sunday Premier Division crown look more promising but they will still have to hold off the challenge of Upton Snodsbury and Heenans.

At the foot of the table, Colwall St James, New Inn and Callow End are battling to retain their top-flight status.

In Division One, Droitwich Spa Eagles look like returning to the Premier Division after a two-year absence.

Hot on their heels are last season’s Division Three champions The Bell @ Pensax, who have continued their success in the current campaign.

With one or two impressive reinforcements added to the squad recently, Hallow are likely to make a late run for one of the promotion places.

At the other end of the table, New Barbourne, Hallow Village and Worcester Lynx are all involved in the relegation dogfight.

Worcester Raiders only missed out to The Bell @ Pensax on goal difference last season and this season they head Division Two.

An experienced Claines side are making a strong challenge for honours with The Halfway House also in the running.

The University of Worcester are currently propping up the table but, with several games in hand, they should be able to secure a mid-table position.

Brewers Athletic are running away with Division Three and have a 100 per cent record in their 11 matches played.

Metro, Falcons and Worcester City Wanderers are in contention for the other promotion place.

Cutnall Green and Alumni would appear to be relegation certainties at this stage of the season.

Unbeaten Pillar of Salt Korono currently head the Division Four table by 11 points from second-placed Whitehall and would appear unassailable.

However, six other teams are still in the promotion mix, including seventhplaced WCT Youth Raiders.

Hornets Reserves and The Bell @ St John’s are finding it hard going at the bottom.

The Bell @ Pensax could well make it a club championship double as their reserves are well placed at the top of Division Five.

Five other sides are in the promotion hunt with newcomers Drakes Broughton Rangers possibly the dark horses if they win their games in hand.

Fellow newcomers Sport Dysons currently prop up the table but only two points separate the bottom five clubs.
