THE men of The Worcestershire Golf Club held their annual four-club stableford competition in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

Navigating 18 holes with just three clubs and a putter was a test of both skill and ingenuity and provided a good test for the start of the season.

It was all the more impressive when excellent scores were recorded despite heavy playing conditions at the Malvern Wells course.

Division Three winner Will Brimmell, playing off a handicap of 24, took the overall honours with 42 points.

He just eased out last year’s winner Richard Sebok (8) from Division One on 41.

Also recording good scores were Division One’s Stan Jones (8) and Jamie Dunster (0) and Division Three’s Bob Rogers (20), who all managed 38 points.

David Marshall (1), from Division One, led the group on 37 points, which included Colin Lowe (13), Martin Dowe (17), John Whitehead (14) and Terry Price (16) from Division Two and John Wright (19) and Mike Bolton (20) from Three.

A total of £279 was raised for the charity.
