MALVERN Rugby Club were thoroughly outplayed by a classy Wolverhampton side in the National Under 17s Cup divisional quarter-finals, losing 55-0.

The hosts contributed to their own downfall in the second minute when a pass behind their own line was dropped.

A Wolverhampton player was quickest to react and grab the opening score.

Playing into a stiff breeze, Malvern struggled to implement their own game-plan and get out of their own 22.

They were put under constant pressure by the visitors, whose offloading in the tackle and support play was of the highest order.

Tries followed at regular intervals throughout the first-half, leaving Malvern facing a 43-0 deficit at the break.

With the benefit of the wind behind them, Malvern finally started to exert some pressure at the start of the second-half.

But, when the ball was finally turned over, Wolverhampton broke out of defence to score their eighth try.

Despite all the home team's best efforts, a further score left the final tally at 55-0.
