MALVERN Town are looking to assemble a 20-man squad for the new West Midlands Football League Premier Division season.
Manager Les Jones has been running the rule over a raft of players during pre-season as he looks to finalise his selections.
Players will get another chance to impress against Kent touring side Greenways tomorrow (3pm) and Worcester City on Tuesday (8pm) at the HDanywhere Community Stadium.
Malvern also won 2-1 at Pershore Town on Tuesday, with goals from Jake Hollylee and Matt Turner, and were due to host Droitwich Spa last night in a match rearranged from Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch.
Jones said: “We need a squad of 20 because we can’t compete with the clubs who are paying top players so we need strength in depth to compensate for that.
“We want to put 16 very good players out every week and we can’t do that without a base of 20 because you always get injuries and suspensions.”
Town’s season starts at Cradley Town on Saturday, August 9, before they visit Bewdley Town on Tuesday, August 12.
Their first home league game will be on Saturday, August 16, against Wellington Amateurs.
