n Welland won 4-2 at Fintan to continue their fine start to the Cheltenham Association League Division Three season.

The visitors found it difficult in the first period against a strong wind and a competitive home side.

Despite early pressure from Fintan, Welland went ahead when their passing ability showed through and Jamie Harding netted from six yards after Stacey Brimmell’s cross.

But the lead did not last long as captain Mark Taylor tangled with Fintan’s striker in the box only to give away a penalty which the same player comfortably finished.

Welland regained their lead on 37 minutes when Paul Edwards’ precise pass was driven home by Omar Elmougy.

But Fintan drew level swiftly when Olly Lewis failed to get enough power on his header back to keeper Chris Newman, who was beaten.

Welland dominated the second-half and always looked like scoring.

Brimmell, Edwards and Tim Lewis came close before Harding restored Welland’s lead following Ben Pearson’s pass.

Elmougy rounded off the victory with a sweet strike 15 minutes from time.
