HANLEY Swan trainer David Dennis enjoyed success at Wetherby with Steel Summit.

The five-year-old gelding recorded his second win of the year, under a positive ride from jockey Brian Harding.

He secured almost £4,000 in prize money in the 100% Racing UK Profits Returned To Racing Handicap Chase.

But Dennis’ charge could not follow up at Chepstow, finishing fifth in the Royal Air Force Novices’ Handicap Hurdle over a similar trip.

The trainer said: “Steel Summit has taken a little time to mature but he’s a very good jumper.

“He has been given a break after a busy spring and is likely to be upped in trip at some point.

“Steel Summit is a great opportunity for any owners looking to buy with a guide price of £30,000.

“A five-year-old sired by Craigsteel, we feel he has untapped potential and look forward to him improving over the coming season.”

Dennis added: “Angus Glens also placed well, dead-heating for second under Josephine Gordon in an apprentice handicap.

“After leading for much of the way, he was unlucky to get collared close to home, at Lingfield.

“Tyre Hill finished a staying-on third, despite the heavy ground in the bumper at Uttoxeter under Mikey Ennis, after being held up in the last trio.”
