WORCESTER Cavaliers have booked their place in the semi-finals of the Aviva A-League after powering to a 59-11 victory tonight against Newcastle Falcons at Sixways.

Fly-half Ignacio Mieres kicked 17 points for Worcester, while Josh Drauniniu and Perry Humphreys both scored twice in an eight-try romp in front of a bumper crowd.

Warriors’ second-string are top of the Northern section of the competition and chalked up another win after building a 23-11 platform at the break.

Mieres kicked Cavaliers ahead before Phil Godman’s penalty levelled the scores.

Andrew Boyce was driven over for a converted score and Mieres converted before kicking his second penalty of the evening to put Worcester 13-3 ahead.

Mieres extended the hosts’ lead with a 24th-minute penalty before Godman nailed his second penalty.

Newcastle scored a try through Lee Smith before Worcester hit back.

Ravai Fatiaki dived over after James Stephenson and Drauniniu combined and Mieres converted.

The second-half was less than a minute old when Dan Sanderson forced his way over for Worcester’s third try and Mieres converted to put Cavaliers 30-11 in front.

It got even better for the hosts in the 47th minute, Drauniniu finishing off good work from Fatiaki and Mieres slotted the extras.

Drauniniu bagged his second try in the 56th minute after receiving the ball from Fatiaki and racing all the way to the line.

And Worcester snapped up their sixth try soon afterwards, Drauniniu unleashing replacement scrum-half Charlie Mulchrone to cross.

Humphreys scored Worcester’s seventh try, which was converted by replacement fly-half Andy Symons, and the youngster bagged the hosts’ eighth touchdown.
