MAX Surridge has been named the Bromyard School of Taekwondo Malvern branch’s student of the year.

He finished his successful training season off in fine spirit with the accolade.

At blue belt level, Surridge joined from another Malvern club in a bid to pursue his fighting ambition.

The 10-year-old has since gone from strength to strength, making a name for himself on both taekwondo and kickboxing fighting circuits.

This was then topped by him reaching the high standard required by the group and he successfully tested to red tag level.

Now Surridge, who has joined the club’s kickboxing division, and hopes to fight in the same event as Malvern’s semi-professional fighter Tom Everard on live television next year in Somerset.
