WORCESTER Nomads ‘A’ moved closer to the Worcestershire Indoor Cricket League Worcester Division One title by beating Old Elizabethans.

The Bransford side produced their best display of the season as Ryan Tongue took 2-12 in OEs’ 66 all out.

Nomads cruised home on 67-0 with 6.5 overs left through Sam Roberts (18 not out) and Lewis Austin (30no) to book a place at the finals night on April 19.

Struggling Eastnor (90-3) lost to Nomads ‘B’ (91-3) with three balls left.

Clive Chadani (28no) and Sharafat Hossain (14) provided a platform but the run-rate was restricted before Nomads struggled to victory.

In Division Two, Old Vigornians (144-4) beat Malvern (118-5) by 26 runs, despite the batting efforts of Lewis Hill (45) and Matt Reed (49no).

Hill also claimed 2-26 with the ball.

West Malvern (124-4) lost to Droitwich (126-4) with two balls remaining.

Kevin Gilbert (26) and Pete O’Connell (10) started well for West before Will Lloyd (33no) impressed.

Meanwhile, Eastnor host their NatWest CricketForce weekend when the club are looking for helpers and volunteers to help spruce up the ground and facilities from 9.30am tomorrow and Sunday.
