BARNARDS Green seconds’ Dovey brothers both scored centuries during a fine partnership in Birmingham and District Premier League Division Two South.

At North End Lane, Green won the toss against Stourbridge and chose to bat first, accumulating 274-6.

Adam Dovey scored 115, including 15 fours, and Will Dovey 100 with nine fours and four sixes.

But, despite 3-39 from Jack Cullity, the visitors passed their target on 276-5 with four balls left to win by five wickets.

The unbeaten third XI welcomed Harvington to Newland and the Vale side decided to bat first.

They were dismissed for 174 thanks mainly to Lewis Hopper (6-26), who claimed two caught-and-bowled victims.

Openers Adam Dickenson (62) and Jez Clarke (53) top scored as Green reached 176-6 in 32 overs.

The previous evening, they visited Bromyard in the Knockout Cup.

Bromyard scored 84-9 after 15 eight-ball overs with Ben Whittenbury (31) starring.

Green started well with Steve Alamutu hitting a rapid 17 but were pegged back by Ollie Redsull (3-14).

However, Clarke and Will Dovey took Green to victory in the 11th over with the latter’s 28 not out off just 15 balls.

The juniors’ highlight was the under 12s’ visit to Rushwick, who were skittled for just 19 with Josh Dickenson taking 7-2, including six clean bowled and one LBW.

Green knocked off the runs in four overs thanks to Ben Sutton and Ollie Hallion.

The under 15s beat Rushwick in the cup and play Ombersley in the next round but the weather was unkind to the other age groups.

The under 11s’ game was abandoned and the under 13s lost to Worcester in the cup on a bowl-out.

The under 13s had a comprehensive victory over Hanley Castle and Upton, reaching 169-2 off 20 overs with Josh Dickenson and Tom Yardy both retiring on 30. Ollie Throup added 27no and Hallion 26no.

Hanley were bowled out for 87 with Issac Oakley (3-14) and Jack Sampson (2-16) the leading wicket-takers.
