MALVERN Joggers held their annual 10-kilometre race at Castlemorton Common.

Good weather meant the event attracted a record number of competitors with more than 300 completing the challenging, multi-terrain course.

The men’s race was won by Jay Dowding, of Cheltenham and County Harriers, in a time of 37 minutes 44 seconds followed by Tewkesbury AC’s Jon Mansfield in 37.50.

The first Jogger home was Jon Newey in third place overall in 38.33.

The women’s race was won by Laura Tootell, of Wye Valley Runners, in 44.52 followed by last year’s winner Sarah Armstrong from Worcester’s Amazing Feet Running Club in 45.04.

Third was Gintare Gaigaliene, of Wye Valley Runners, in 45.06.

Meanwhile, Joggers’ Julie Caseley secured victory in the women’s over 55s category at Aldridge Running Club’s 10k race in Walsall.

Caseley finished the undulating road run in 49.47, bagging a trophy and cash prize presented by the local mayor.
