THE highest team total of the day in the Birmingham League Premier Division came from Shrewsbury as they sailed to 379-6 declared from 54 overs against Brockhampton.

Ed Foster (105) and Will Parton (97) put on 204 for the second wicket which laid the foundation for Tom Cox (48) and Rob Foster (44) to accelerate Shrewsbury to their final total.

Amongst the mayhem, Callum Stewart finished with 3-43 for Brockhampton who slipped to 219 all out, despite a fighting 77 from 68 balls by Nick Powell.

In a relatively low scoring game at Ombersley, visitors Kidderminster Victoria were all out for 215, to which the home side replied with 186-7 from 58 overs.

Nathan Round (85) held the Kidderminster innings together early on but when he was out at 170, the Chester Road side lost their last seven wickets for 45.

Duncan Catterall nipped in to take 3-34 for Ombersley but apart from Nick Hammond (102 not out from 170 balls) they struggled to get the best of the visiting attack with Matt Pardoe taking 3-36.

Ombersley lie one point behind leaders Knowle and Dorridge with Kidderminster another eight points behind in fifth place.

There were two high scoring games in Division One but the most significant result was Walsall’s seven wicket win at Wellington which takes the Gorway outfit 11 points clear at the top of the table.

After a poor start to the season, Himley continue to move in the right direction even though they were unable to clinch a victory over Bromsgrove.

An opening stand of 94 between Greg Wright (134) and Will Fraine (51) followed by a second wicket partnership of 185 between Wright and Wasim Jaffer (101 not out) boosted Himley to 306-3 from 55 overs.

Bromsgrove held out on 267- 8 after Arfan Khan took a hattrick when the home side were on 265-6 six.

Jayden Levitt (85), Ryan Pedley (74) and Alexei Kervezee (58) were all in the runs for Bromsgrove with Khan finishing up with 3-54 for Himley.

Attock have moved into a comfortable mid-table position following a Qamar Khan inspired 59-run success at Barnards Green.

Khan cracked 101 as he and skipper Rawait Khan (44) took Attock to 242 all out with Andy Ford taking 4 -63 and Liam Smith 3-45.

Barnards Green were all out for 183 with Sarmad Anwar (4- 65) and Iftikhar Ahmad (4 -52) sharing eight of the wickets.

Opener Andrew Curtis (38) was sixth out at 105 and after his dismissal, only Elliott Hennessy (34) threatened to deny Attock their victory.

Matt Bradley (104) and Audy Alexander (73 not out) added 119 for the fourth wicket as Stourbridge cruised to 250-6 in Division Two at Old Elizabethans who responded with 213- 7.

Johann Smit (88 not out) and Daniel Goodyear (43) added 95 for the fourth OE’s wicket but 4-61 from Mikesh Jivan-Patel kept it tight for Stourbridge who continue to move away from danger.

The highest score of the day in this division came at Wombourne where Kuldeep Diwan (151 from 109 balls), David Hemming (90) and Dan Vernon (73) blasted the home side to 361-5 against Eastnor.

The Herefordshire side’s opening batsman Dave Waters hit 101 from 97 balls, in reply, but apart from opening partner Suleyman Shah (23) he received no support at all as Eastnor crashed from 88 without loss to 157 all out.

Hemming (5-61) and Waqas Ahmed (3-23) were architects of Eastnor’s downfall and they remain at the foot of the table.

A solid batting effort by Worcester, including 52 from Nick Brown, 50 from Bryn Evans and 49 from Fabian Allen helped them to a 49-run Division Three win at Worfield who collapsed from 175-3 to 215 all out, in reply.

Will Cook took 4-42 for Worfield before hitting 98 to place his side in a promising position but Liam Weston (5-44) and Allen (3-72) combined to blow the middle order away.
