SOUTH African centre Wynand Olivier has been named in the Barbarians squad for Saturday’s clash against Worcester Warriors at Sixways (3pm).

The 32-year-old is believed to have signed a deal with Warriors but is thought to be applying for a visa which would allow him to join the club ahead of their Aviva Premiership return.

Olivier played for 54 minutes in the Baa-Baas’ hard- fought 27-24 victory against Samoa at the Olympic Stadium in London last weekend.

Centre Ben Tapuai gave outstanding display for the Barbarians and scored a brace, including a try from a fluent multi-handling move as the game entered its final quarter.

Former South Africa lock Bakkies Botha skippered the Baa-Baas but has not been included in the squad for the trip to Worcester.

Former New Zealand tighthead prop Carl Hayman, who won 45 caps for the All Blacks, is no stranger to Sixways.

Hayman played 64 times for Newcastle Falcons between 2007 and 2010.

The 35-year-old said: “It will be good to get back to Sixways, especially after playing a few games there when I was playing for Newcastle. It’s always a good place to go and a lively atmosphere.”

He added: “It’s an amazing experience to play for the Baa-Baas. The history of the Barbarians club is superb and it’s a coming together of a group of guys from all around the world to mould into a team over a week.”
