MALVERN’S Bob Ceen is challenging for honours as the Pirelli MSA Welsh Forest Rally Championship heads to Ludlow tomorrow for the penultimate round of the series.

The Woodpecker Rally sees seven drivers still with a chance of taking the title but Worcester’s Paul Davy is the current leader.

With the series enjoying a surge in registrations this season, there are plenty of class honours still to be decided as well.

Davy has yet to claim an overall win during the campaign but consistent performances in the top five mean he leads in his Group ‘N’ specification Subaru Impreza.

With top co-driver Roger Allan the entries secretary this weekend, Davy teams up with Dood Pearce as he tries to extend the series lead at his home event.

But Malvern’s Ceen will be doing all he can to move to the top of the standings and lies just three points back from the leader going into the event.

Ceen claimed his first win of the season in his Impreza World Rally Car on the Severn Valley Stages, with three second places to back that up.

A non-finish on the Plains Rally is the only blot on his copybook so far this year.
