LEIGH and Bransford Badgers’ youngsters enjoyed meeting their Premier League heroes as they were invited by The Albion Foundation to visit The Hawthorns.
They had a tour of West Bromwich Albion’s ground and enjoyed a training session in the academy with Baggies coaches, followed by lunch and tickets to watch a league match.
Badgers’ players were from under-sevens to 14s with many watching their first Premier League game.
As the young hopefuls tried out the dugout seats, they were thrilled to see a few of their heroes walking past.
Captain Darren Fletcher and midfielders James McClean and Callum McManaman stopped for a quick photograph.
Then Jonny Evans jumped into the dugout, with many players grabbing a selfie with the ex-Manchester United defender.
Many Badgers members play with The Albion Foundation in their Worcester and Malvern teams and enjoy their holiday clubs.
A parent said: “My son was thrilled to meet his idols. It was very kind of the players to stop and meet the boys. It shows great professionalism and respect for the fans.”
