A GOOD turn-out of Malvern Anglers fished their Christmas seasonal fur and feather match at Fishponds, Colwall.
Fortunately, the early morning rain receded but it left a cold, grey day that did not seem to encourage the fish to feed as all anglers struggled for bites.
Although weights were disappointingly low, the results for the leading places were close.
Leading the field was Shaun Taylor, who was lucky enough to catch a good-sized perch of almost 2lb to make up the bulk of his winning weight of 2lb 4oz.
Just an ounce behind, Dave Whittaker caught about 30 small perch for his second-placed weight of 2-3.
Third place was tied between Dick Oakley and Phil Harding, each with just a single skimmer bream of 1-11. John Barr managed 1-5.
Other weights were all made up of various numbers of small perch.
After the match, a wide variety of Christmas prizes were claimed, while warming helpings of beef stew and dumplings were enjoyed by all.
