WORCESTER Nomads A, B and C teams all won as they continued to impress in the Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor League.

In Division One, Nomads B (129-3) beat Hallow (35 all out) by 94 runs after always being in command.

Hallow have not yet adjusted to the indoor game and running in particular.

The first run-out of Rob Tyler saw a neat flick off his feet to square leg and the ball come back straight off the wall to the wicketkeeper, with the batsman a third of the way down the pitch.

Dave Pugh was top scorer on 13 until he was run-out too.

At 33-3 after another run-out, two runs later Hallow were all out.

Nomads’ Ollie Scurry (27 not out) and Derek Austin (33no) scored 72 from the first six overs before retiring.

Jamie Oliver (18no) and Ollie Ranscombe (13) also contributed for the Bransford club, while Stuart Hayes took 2-20 for Hallow.

Nomads A (127-5) beat Royal Grammar School Worcester (110-5) by 17 runs.

The students’ bowling needed tightening as unnecessary no-balls and wides contributed 26 to Nomads’ score. However, scoring 110 was commendable although Sam Hughes (47no), as last man standing, needed more support.

Only Rhodri Williams (16) also managed double figures.

Nomads’ Joe Laugher (25) and Sam Roberts (34no) posted 63 at halfway without loss.

Rich Henry (13) and Sean Butler (15) kept up the pace, while Robbie Watts claimed 2-23.

In Division Two, unbeaten Nomads C (138 all out) beat Malvern (75-3) by 63 runs.

Openers Nick Jones and Josh Hawes put on 60 in under four overs prior to retirement. Nomads were on 84 at halfway, losing Malcolm Jones (12) to a run-out as the bowler touched a straight drive onto the stumps.

Andy Hill scored 17 before the returning Jones (31) and Hawes (49) featured in a final flourish, before Jones ran himself and his partner out with nine balls to go.

Malvern struggled from the off. Lewis Hill retired in the sixth over with the score on 35-1 and still 100 runs behind.

Tom Fairclough (21no) batted sensibly but, entering in the tenth over, couldn’t influence the outcome.

Rushwick (66 all out) lost to West Malvern (67-0) with 3.4 overs remaining.

West notched up their first win of the season by dismissing Rushwick in 10.4 overs thanks to Rowan Dakin’s 3-10 off three overs.

Chris Davies (22) played well before becoming Dakin’s first victim through an lbw decision.

Only Matt Champion (12) promised resistance but he was run-out, leaving West to knock off the runs in the ninth over without loss through Pete O’Connell (28no) and Kevin Gilbert (21no).
