HEREFORD FC have confirmed they have lodged an appeal after defender Ryan Green was sent off against Didcot Town on Saturday.

Green was dismissed by referee Matthew Law after a penalty was awarded two minutes into the second half.

But confusion arose due to new rule changes being brought in which stated that players were no longer automatically sent off when bringing down players in the penalty box, if a clear goalscoring opportunity arose.

However, Hereford manager Pete Beadle said that he was informed by Law that players could still be dismised if they pulled, pushed or held a player in the box.

Hereford have since viewed video footage of the incident and have subsequently appealed the decision.

Law also denied the Bulls a couple of penalty shouts, including one at the death when Pablo Haysham went down.

Meanwhile, Hereford have today received international clearance for full-back Adam Davies.

The former Merthyr Town player is eligible for tomorrow night's game at Swindon Supermarine.
