HEREFORD FC could be crowned Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South & West champions next week.

The Bulls are now 13 points clear of Taunton Town after beating North Leigh 4-1 at Edgar Street today.

Taunton, who had a player sent off, lost 3-0 at Larkhall Athletic following two quick-fire goals at the start of the second half.

It means that if Hereford beat Salisbury next week, they will be crowned champions if Taunton lose at Evesham and Tiverton drop points at Wimborne.

Hereford now have 90 points from 35 games, whereas Taunton have 77 from 36.

Tiverton, who beat Salisbury 2-0 today, have 75 points and can only get a maximum haul of 93.

But even if the Devon side win next week and Hereford beat Salisbury, it will take a mathematical miracle for them to overhaul the Bulls due to their vastly inferior goal difference.

The league table does not take into account Hereford's abandoned game at Didcot.
