LEDBURY Bowling Club will be holding their first open day on Saturday, April 15, from 11am until 4pm.

All members of the public are welcome to join in and are just asked to wear a pair of flat-soled shoes.

Refreshments will be available and the club will be holding a table top sale on the day.

In 2016 Ledbury had one of their most successful years on the bowling green.

Their men won six out of six county titles and were runners-up in another two.

Three young members, brothers Dan and Tom Holmes and Ryan Atkins, have been invited to trial for the Bowls England Under 25s squad in 2017.

Tom Holmes is the current Under 18s British Isles champion and Atkins is already an international under 25s team member.

Dan Holmes earned his place by reaching the national final of the men's outdoor pairs during 2016 alongside team-mate Mike Ricketts.

Ledbury's ladies also played well during 2016, reaching the final stages of the County Top Club competition.

The club have regular friendly matches and also hold regular social evenings.

There will be a further open day on Sunday, May 8, from 11am until 4pm.
